A Buena Park man was robbed at gunpoint early Monday of about $5,000 in casino winnings, authorities said.
Investigators believe that Brian Lau was followed from Hawaiian Gardens Casino, where he had just won the money, to his home in the 9200 block of Villa Vista Drive, said Sgt. Gary Worrall of the Buena Park Police Department.
As Lau arrived home about 2 a.m., he was confronted by two robbers who took the cash, Worrall said.
“I would definitely say that if anybody comes into any sum of money that could tempt criminals, they should be as discrete as possible,” Worrall said.
