U.N. Nuclear Monitor Warns Tehran on Plans
The head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog agency said the world was running out of patience in the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program. The five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council also have sent strong messages that Iran should halt research plans and resume talks with European Union representatives, a U.S. official said.
“I am running out of patience, the international community is running out of patience,” said Mohamed ElBaradei, chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Iran says it wants to produce only electricity; the West says Tehran’s program is aimed at developing weapons.
