Autistic Boy’s Body Found in Pond

The body of an 8-year-old autistic boy was found in a pond across the street from his home in Greenacres, one day after police launched a search for him.
Jared McGuire’s mother told authorities she had last seen him sleeping on the couch. After she reported him missing, police searched the area with dogs and a helicopter. Authorities suspect the boy’s body sank in the pond and then resurfaced.
There were no obvious signs of trauma and the boy was fully clothed, Greenacres Police Lt. Michael Porath said.
Authorities said the boy had severe autism.
