54 Dead in Fire at Textile Factory

Emergency workers in Chittagong, Bangladesh, recovered 48 bodies from the charred debris of a textile factory, raising the death toll to 54, officials said.
The factory had one main exit and workers had to leave by a narrow stairway or jump from windows, a fire official said. The fire late Thursday may have been ignited by sparks from a tool.
