Snyder Resigns as Missouri’s Coach

Missouri’s Quin Snyder resigned Friday as coach, one day after saying he planned to finish what had become a disappointing season.

Assistant Melvin Watkins will guide the team the rest of the season.

After a 10-5 start, the Tigers lost six in a row. They’ve fallen to 3-7 in the Big 12 Conference.

Snyder leaves after a seven-year stint, having compiled a 126-91 record. He had two years remaining on a contract that paid him a base salary of $190,000.

Oklahoma State Coach Eddie Sutton was hospitalized after being injured in a car accident in Stillwater, Okla.

Sutton, 69, suffered a head injury, according to police. He was taken to Stillwater Medical Center, where he was undergoing tests, a spokesman said.

Sutton was listed in good condition, a hospital spokeswoman said. The Cowboys are scheduled to play today at Texas A&M;, and Sutton is expected to watch the game on TV.
