The good old days?
Re “Keep the ‘Mystique’ alive,” Opinion, Feb. 7
I read Susan Jacoby’s article about the need to remind our new adults of the inequities of the not-so-distant past with interest and was reminded of an incident that I had. In the late 1960s, doing publicity for a local nonprofit event, I submitted a photo to The Times that showed four or five women. I listed their names as Jane Doe, Mary Smith, etc. By return mail, I received the photo and a terse note that said: “Who are these women? What are their husbands’ names?”
Ah, yes! The good old days.
