From Times Wire Reports
Federal aviation officials Thursday were set to investigate the crash of a two-seat airplane that killed two people.
The plane went down about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday near Oakdale Airport, about 15 miles east of Modesto. Authorities do not yet know where the flight originated, when it took off or whether it was trying to land at the airport, said Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Parker.
