Irrigation Line Breaks Sending Mud Into Home
- Share via
A ruptured irrigation line triggered a mudslide that damaged a home Wednesday on Mission Road, city fire officials said.
The leak was traced to a line at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park on the hillside above the home. The line was shut off by fire officials who responded to the 5:34 p.m. call.
The mud pushed through a sliding glass door, covered several square yards of the kitchen with nearly 2 feet of mud, then spilled into the living room, said Fire Department spokesman Capt. Steve Parrish. Three residents were evacuated, and one was treated at a hospital for knee pain.
