If you partied like it was 4074 to mark the official start of the Chinese Year of the Dog last weekend, here’s your chance to get the hair of the same. On Saturday, Chinatown holds the 107th edition of its Golden Dragon Parade, featuring floats, bands and, yes, dragons. A weekend-long festival offers live entertainment, car displays and mah-jongg and three-on-three basketball tournaments, among other activities.
Meanwhile on Saturday, Alhambra and San Gabriel hold their Lunar New Year Parade and street festival, with musical performances, cultural displays, a red-envelope giveaway and more. It’s the event’s 15th annual installment, but in dog years, that’s ... oh, nevermind.
