Ortega Highway was closed more than seven hours Tuesday after two sightseers found the body of a woman believed to be in her mid-30s about 10 feet off the road.
“It’s a highly suspicious death and possible homicide,” said Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino.
The body was found at 1:30 p.m. about 12 miles east of San Juan Capistrano by two men who had stopped at a turnout to admire the creekbed below.
The fully clothed woman, described as Latina with long brown hair, 5 feet 2 and about 110 pounds, had not been identified.
