Abby the lion dies at Salt Lake zoo

Abby, an African lion, has died at age 20, the last big cat at Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City.
“Even though she was elderly, she never lost her enthusiasm for greeting the keepers and the public. She especially loved children,” said Gina Phillips, animal-care supervisor.
Abby, who was in poor health, was euthanized. Her partner, Flip, died in 2003 at age 16.
