Underdog status
AS a huge fan of “Friday Night Lights,” I was thrilled to see the article about the show [“May ‘Lights’ Shine Bright,” Dec. 3]. I heard it wasn’t doing well in the ratings and fear its cancellation.
I hope the producers can find their audience. At this point I only know one other person besides my family who watches it.
Sadly, not even my 50-year-old sister and her football-coaching husband, nor their 17-year-old football-playing son, watch it. They were huge fans of the movie. When I asked them why they don’t watch it, they just shrugged. Must be the marketing.
I hope they will replay the pilot with their ad campaign and give people another shot. It is the best show on television.

I’M as passionate about “Friday Night Lights” as Mimi Avins is. I write weekly recaps of each new “FNL” episode for www.fandomtalk.com. I never dreamed I’d become as attached to the characters as I have. It’s hard for me to remember they’re not real.
I appreciate your using your column inches to promote the show. It deserves a wider, deeper audience than it has found so far, and articles like yours can only help!
