Deployment may signal Iraq push

The U.S. military plans to move a brigade into Kuwait in what could be the first step of a short-term surge of forces into Iraq, a Pentagon official said.
The 2nd Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division, roughly 3,500 troops, is expected in Kuwait early next year, said the official, who requested anonymity because the plans had not been announced.
