First lady passes out at start of trial

Taiwanese First Lady Wu Shu-chen passed out at the beginning of her embezzlement and forgery trial in Taipei today and was taken to a hospital.
Wu, who was paralyzed from the waist down when a truck ran her over in 1985, has recently appeared frail and sickly. She was carried from the court in her wheelchair.
