ABC to rejigger Wednesday slate
ABC will kick off the New Year with a new comedy lineup on Wednesday nights and a new time slot for “Lost,” which will no longer have to face off with Fox’s juggernaut “American Idol” or CBS’ rising star “Criminal Minds.”
“According to Jim” returns to the schedule at 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., beginning Jan. 3, followed by two new comedies, “The Knights of Prosperity” at 9 p.m. and “In Case of Emergency” at 9:30 p.m. “The George Lopez Show” will move in at 8:30 p.m. as of Jan. 24.
“Lost” returns for 16 uninterrupted original episodes Feb. 7 at 10 p.m. The freshman drama “Day Break,” starring Taye Diggs, which is currently on Wednesdays at 9 p.m., is supposed to move into the 10 p.m. slot next month until “Lost” resumes, but could be benched before that because of poor ratings.
“The Knights of Prosperity” stars Donal Logue as leader of a band of affable, novice thieves who choose rock icon Mick Jagger’s Central Park West apartment for their first heist. “In Case of Emergency” is the story of four old friends from high school who find themselves in the same hospital and realize that their lives didn’t turn out exactly the way they’d planned.
