Program OKd to help homeless pay for housing

Supervisors approved a $1.5-million pilot program to provide homeless people discharged from county hospitals with permanent housing. Individuals leaving hospital care will receive Section 8 housing vouchers and other social service support. The program is designed to help an estimated 100 homeless people find fixed shelter.
