That’s Right, Easy Does It

Wednesday is National Underwear Day. “I don’t even know what that means,” says Jen Abercrombie, the owner of the Panty Raid boutique in Silver Lake. “Most people wear underwear every single day.” Most, but not all: Bicyclists, ballerinas and lifeguards are said to regularly go fancy-free in the underpants department, and men long ago abandoned the once de rigueur undershirt. Thankfully, Denzel Washington, at right, donned a singlet as Easy Rawlins in “Devil in a Blue Dress.” Celebrate by watching the 1995 film, based on the novel by L.A.’s own Walter Mosley.
