A gorgeous ribbon of highway

MARK BOSTER’s description of driving up U.S. 395 as “sort of religious” is so true [“California’s Miracle Miles,” April 23]. I’m happy you wrote about it. I’ve driven that highway for 60 years, starting at California 14. In the late ‘40s and ‘50s, my husband and I drove to June Lake and fished that loop. From the ‘60s on, we drove to Lake Tahoe.

I hope you will extend your drive. After seeing most of the United States, to travel on 395 always fills my heart with its beauty.
