A pit bull that attacked her owner, chewing off portions of the woman’s face, has been euthanized, authorities said.
The owners of the 4-year-old dog believed that they would not be safe with the animal and authorized the procedure, Animal Control Services Officer Wesley Moore said.
The 24-year-old victim, whose name was withheld by police, was attacked Tuesday night and hospitalized.
Surgeons attempted to reattach flesh ripped from her face.
