Bringing Islam into the German classroom

Re “Making Room for Muslim
Educators,” Oct. 12
Germany is sowing another whirlwind in introducing Islam into its public schools. While the aim is “to better integrate” the Muslim community, and the teaching of Islam is to be “sensitive to Western culture,” the actual effect can only be to weaken Western culture and the civilization that nurtured it.
As noted, “Learning Islam in school will finally give Muslim children the feeling of being home.” The goal is not to integrate Muslim children into Western culture but to alter Western culture so as to reflect Islamic values. This is the latest chapter in the ongoing Islamization of Europe and the concomitant demise of Western culture.

Islam is greatly misunderstood today, and some are either terrified or confused. It is nice to see Muslims in Germany trying to clear the dirty image many have of Islam through education. The article clearly presented Muslims working toward connecting the bridge between Muslims and non-Muslims. The effort serves as an example of what we can all do to bring understanding.
