Activist Ordered Freed in Condo Fire Case

A judge Wednesday ordered an environmental activist released from jail after determining that it was futile trying to force him to testify before a grand jury investigating a 2003 arson fire.
U.S. District Judge Irma Gonzales ordered the release of David Agranoff, 31, who has spent 80 days in jail for refusing to testify about a $50-million fire that destroyed a condominium project and for which a radical group claimed responsibility.
