One Injured, One Jailed After Freeway Argument

From a Times Staff Writer

A road rage argument that began on the Orange Freeway ended in a fight that left one man injured and another jailed for assault and battery, California Highway Patrol officials said Wednesday.

The men, who did not know each other, were not identified.

Officials said the driver of a Toyota, which had one passenger, and the driver of a van carrying nine people got into an argument about 10:30 a.m.

Both cars exited the freeway at Chapman Avenue, where the driver of the van and several of his passengers got out and fought with the other driver, CHP officials said.

The Toyota’s driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Three passengers in the van were detained for questioning.
