Ready for a plot twist

Remaking movies is nothing new in the film business [“Remade in the USA,” May 8], but this notion of taking old television shows and slapping a fresh new face up on the screen is just an easy way to sell tickets. These assembly-line factory films have no actual story, feature bad actors and perpetuate the myth that this is entertainment. The audience is regarded as dumb and gullible enough to plunk down $10 a ticket to see these really bad retreads. As long as the tickets sell, they will keep cranking them out.
Why not give creative new ideas a chance? We can take it. Really!
