Schwarzenegger Selects His Own Constituency
Re “Gov. Faces Widening Network of Opposition,” March 16: I am appalled by the comments made by Margita Thompson, the governor’s press secretary, in reference to the groundswell of protests against Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It seems in her spin-addled world, nurses, firefighters and teachers are just a bunch of special interest camps looking for generous state handouts.
She implies that the governor can’t address their issues as he is looking out for the interests of “the people.” I guess she’s talking about “the people” who can afford the $89,200 donation to have a private briefing with the governor.
It certainly is a great position to be in when you can pick “the people” you want to represent.
