World Mayors to Form Environmental Pact

Mayors from around the world will meet in San Francisco in June to sign an agreement to improve urban environments.
During the United Nations World Environment Day conference, scheduled for June 1-5, the mayors plan to develop “urban environmental accords” that seek to improve urban design, transportation and recycling, Mayor Gavin Newsom said Monday.
This is the first time the conference will be held in the United States.
