Kurdish Rebels Kill 4 Soldiers in Ambush

Kurdish rebels ambushed a Turkish commando unit, killing four soldiers and wounding one in southeastern Turkey as the rebels threatened to escalate violence across the country.
The attack occurred near Cicekli village in Tunceli province.
Hours later, police in Istanbul said they had captured seven Kurds planning attacks in the city, including the commander of a rebel special forces unit, police said. Police said the rebels were collecting intelligence on possible targets but had not yet brought explosives to Istanbul.
