San Ysidro Ranch worth it? Hmmm
Let’s infuse some reality into Ann Herold’s night at the San Ysidro Ranch (Weekend Escape, July 3), in which she asks, “Is it worth it?”
She couldn’t arrive before 4 p.m. During the stay, she and her fiance left the room only for a wine reception, breakfast and a tennis game, and they spent about one-third of the time asleep in a room that cost $875 with breakfast and tax.
They had take-out dinner and sandwiches for their lunches. She had to give up a hike because of a noon check-out the next day.
Much as she attempts to justify her indulgent sojourn, these restrictions make the answer to her question an obvious “No.”
