Professor Says Pieces of Scroll Are Ancient
From Times Wire Reports
Two fragments from a nearly 2,000-year-old parchment scroll have been discovered in the Judean Desert, the first such find in decades, said professor Chanan Eshel, an archeologist from Tel Aviv’s Bar Ilan University.
The two pieces of brown animal skin are inscribed in Hebrew with verses from the Book of Leviticus. They are being tested by Israel’s Antiquities Authority.
