A city employee has surrendered on vehicular manslaughter charges for allegedly killing a pedestrian while driving a municipal truck.
Larry Reed, a 23-year employee of Richmond’s Recreation and Parks Department, turned himself in Tuesday night, Police Lt. Mark Gagan said Wednesday.
Police said Reed killed Rosalind Martin, 47, when he ran her over as he drove a flatbed truck, dragging her several hundred feet. Reed, 49, had pretended to be a witness, police said.
