From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A 16-month-old boy who drowned in a backyard spa was identified by coroners Thursday as Ezekiel Conor Gilmer.
The toddler, whom authorities first reported as 18 months old, was found Tuesday evening in the spa at his home in the 25000 block of Modoc Drive, police said.
His 24-year-old mother left him in the living room and returned within minutes to find the boy missing, police said. She searched the house and backyard before she found him, police said.
The toddler was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, where he died.
