A well-known Haitian journalist was found shot to death five days after he was seized in the capital, colleagues said.
The body of Jacques Roche, which had signs of torture, was left in central Port-au-Prince, said Gerin Alexandre, head of information at Radio Caraibes.
Roche was in charge of the cultural section of Le Matin newspaper and moderated a talk show on a local TV station.
Several editorials in Le Matin have accused militant supporters of ousted President Jean-Bertrand Aristide of being behind a wave of violence.
