A rush to judgment on King/Drew?

Re “Time Is Latest Hurdle
for King/Drew,” July 27
I have been an employee at King/Drew Medical Center for more than 19 years. It is not uncommon to find people like me at King/Drew who have dedicated years -- sometimes decades -- to serving the hospital and the surrounding community. So when I read that L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe thought that six months or a year was too long to take in deciding whether to outsource King/Drew, I was very disappointed.
This is such an important decision that will affect the lives of thousands of patients and long-term employees at King/Drew as well as the entire county health system. Shouldn’t the board take the time recommended by its own consultants to make a thoughtful decision about the future of the hospital?
A little time seems the least the Board of Supervisors could give on a decision that affects so many.
