Businessman Resigns From Board of Regents

Haim Saban, a Los Angeles media magnate appointed to the University of California Board of Regents in 2002, said in a statement Wednesday that he was resigning immediately for personal reasons from the UC board.
Saban has been criticized for missing most of the regents’ scheduled meetings.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to name a replacement to serve the remainder of the 12-year term.
