Congressional Candidate Hurt Fleeing House Fire

A congressional candidate’s antebellum home in LaFayette burned down, and he broke his knee jumping from the second floor to escape the flames.
Bill Fuller, a Democrat who faces an uphill battle against Republican Rep. Mike Rogers, also suffered smoke inhalation, as well as scrapes and bruises from the 15-foot jump into the bushes, said his spokesman, Ken Mullinax. The home was built in the 1840s.
