Boyfriend Is Charged in Beating Death

A Garden Grove man was charged Tuesday with beating his live-in girlfriend to death, officials said.
Paul Edward Maines, 37, faces a murder charge in the Aug. 24 attack on Oubonhrath Khylity, 27, of Garden Grove, at their Ferndale Drive condominium.
According to authorities, Maines left the home, then called police and asked them to check on Khylity.
She was found severely beaten and unconscious and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she died two days later.
