A carjacking and home-invasion robbery led to the arrest of three men Sunday and three others were being sought, including one who was believed holed up in a tear-gassed apartment building, Santa Ana police said.
The episode began with a carjacking near Harbor Boulevard and West Edinger Street, Santa Ana Police Sgt. Carlos Rojas said. Six men forced the driver to his apartment, where a woman fled with an infant. The woman called 911, Rojas said.
Twenty police officers, including a SWAT team, responded. Officers apprehended three suspects.
Two other suspects apparently drove away.
The sixth suspect was believed still to be inside the apartment unit in the 3000 block of West Edinger Street.
