Inmate’s Death in Cell Is Under Investigation

A man who had been arrested on a warrant for vandalism was found dead in his jail cell, officials said Monday.
Vincent Andrew Martinez, 38, of La Habra, was discovered by a jailer during a routine check in the city jail about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. He had been arrested about 4 p.m. after police responded to a family disturbance call and determined that he was wanted on a $5,000 warrant.
The death is being investigated by the Orange County district attorney’s office, a standard procedure in all custody-related deaths.
