Timeshare an easy vacation option
The article about the timeshare industry was not thorough enough, although fair [“Timeshare Market Is Booming, but They’re Not for Everyone,” Travel Insider, May 16].
I have sold timeshares for almost six months. A timeshare is a no-brainer, regardless of cost.
I speak from experience. My parents have owned a timeshare for more than 30 years. My mother and father set one week aside to take my sister and me on vacation. Having a week away from the worries of work not only kept my family sane, but it also helped keep the values of life in perspective. I can still see my dad trying to jump over enormous waves and my mom opening the ice chest to take out the sandwiches she made for our picnic. What a wonderful way for siblings to spend time together Today, my parents still take vacations using their timeshare, which they paid pennies for compared with today’s prices. The true value is not in the money you are spending, but in the time you are spending with your loved ones.
