Kim Loses His Job After Red Sox Fall

Cleveland starter Jeff D’Amico has probably pitched himself out of the starting rotation. Luckily for him, Boston starter Byung-Hyun Kim has too.
Kim lost his job as a starter after giving up six runs in 3 1/3 innings on Monday night at Boston, where the Indians beat the Red Sox, 10-6.
D’Amico gave up four runs in 2 2/3 innings but avoided the loss because Chad Durbin (3-3) was able to hold Boston to only one more run through the fifth.
“We’ve got a day off coming up here. We’re going to pitch the best starters we have,” Indian Manager Eric Wedge said after ending a five-game losing streak. “I’ve always said Durbin will have a chance to start at some point.”
Kim (1-1) gave up five hits and three walks in 3 1/3 innings before leaving to catcalls from the Fenway Park crowd. Bronson Arroyo will replace him in the rotation. Boston outfielder Manny Ramirez sat out the game because he was being sworn in as a U.S. citizen in Miami.
Toronto 9, Kansas City 3 -- Switch-hitter Orlando Hudson hit the first two homers of his career right-handed and drove in four runs at Kansas City, Mo. Toronto won for the sixth time in a row and extended its winning streak at Kauffman Stadium to eight games. The Royals (9-21) are off to their worst start after 30 games since the 1992 team started 8-22.
