BASEBALL
* Eric Thacker, San Pedro: Pitched a five-hitter, striking out eight, and Grant Harper was three for four, including a solo home run in the fourth inning, for the No. 19 Pirates in a 6-3 Marine League victory over visiting Carson.
SOFTBALL
* Rosey Neill, Laguna Hills: Had two hits and two runs scored, and Caylinn Wallace drove in the winning run for the No. 19 Hawks in a 3-1 Sea View League victory over visiting No. 18 Irvine Woodbridge.
* Dana Crucil, Orange El Modena: Pitched a seven-hitter, striking out nine, and was two for four with two runs batted in for the No. 22 Vanguards in a 6-4 Century League victory over visiting Villa Park.
* Lisa Geer and Megan Bush, Anaheim Canyon: Geer retired the final 19 batters and finished with 12 strikeouts to pick up the win in relief, and Bush scored the tying run in the seventh and the go-ahead run in the 10th for the No. 7 Comanches in a 7-2 Century League win over Brea Olinda. Heather Sletvett had a three-run triple in the 10th.

BOYS’ GOLF
* Rory Hie, Cerritos: Shot a nine-under-par 203, a personal best, to earn medalist honors for the No. 5 Dons in the Suburban League individual finals. Daniel Im, The Times’ 2003 golfer of the year, and Shiwan Kim finished five strokes back to tie for second for No. 9 La Mirada.
BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
* Morgan Govaars and Adam Schlesinger, Newport Harbor: Govaars had 19 kills, Schlesinger had 48 assists, and Gavin Galey added 18 kills for the No. 4 Sailors in a 25-23, 26-24, 18-25, 18-25, 15-12 Sea View League victory at No. 7 Irvine Woodbridge.
