High Court Agrees to Let Public See Rulings

Mexico’s Supreme Court and Federal Judicial Council agreed to give the public access to all federal court rulings and to keep plaintiffs’ and defendants’ personal information secret only when publishing such data might put them in danger.
The new regulations are supposed to take effect this week or next. Anyone could obtain a copy of rulings in federal trials, said a Supreme Court statement.
Testimony and evidence may be secret or public when a case ends, at the judge’s discretion.
