Islamists Confront Diners; Violence Erupts

About 100 Bahraini Islamists shouting, “God is great!” and “Why do you drink?” stormed a French restaurant serving alcohol near Manama, the capital, and threatened diners with knives, witnesses said.
One diner wrested a knife from an assailant and seriously wounded him, a witness said. Witnesses said the assailants also threw Molotov cocktails at customers’ cars.
Jahanshah Bakhtiar, owner of La Terrasse Restaurant, said the assailants “were acting as if they had the right ideas and people should obey them.”
