Ex-Priest’s Sentencing in Molestation Delayed

Sentencing was postponed for a former Roman Catholic priest who pleaded no contest to molesting a young girl at his vacation home in the scenic Sierra Nevada resort town of Truckee.
Stephen Kiesle, 56, pleaded no contest to the felony charge in January.
During a hearing in Superior Court, a judge referred him to the California Department of Corrections for a 90-day diagnostic review, a court supervisor said.
Kiesle, a convicted child molester, pleaded no contest to the charge in the 1995 crime. Under an agreement with prosecutors, he has the option to withdraw his plea and go to trial if a judge imposes a sentence longer than six years.
