Mother Held After Leading Police to Body of Missing Girl
SELMA, Calif. — The body of a 4-year-old girl reported missing Sunday morning at a crowded flea market in this Fresno County town was found in a shallow grave near Klamath Falls, Ore., Monday night, police said.
Cassandra Hodge’s mother, Amanda Hodges, 20, led police to the grave.
The mother was arrested on suspicion of murdering the child by abusing her. The mother’s boyfriend, Erik Sanchez Guillermo, 37, was arrested Monday and booked on suspicion of murder and conspiring to commit a crime.
The couple told authorities that the girl disappeared at the flea market, but police soon began to doubt their stories.
Detectives said they believe the girl was killed near Klamath Falls several days before the couple went to Selma and reported her missing.
