Woman Pleads Guilty in Husband’s Murder
A Victorville woman pleaded guilty to murdering her husband in a plot with a former country music disc jockey she met on the Internet, prosecutors for the district attorney’s office in San Bernardino County said.
Cathleen Quinn also agreed to testify against her former co-defendant, Alan Lama, when his trial begins this month.
Prosecutors allege that on Jan. 24, 2003, Quinn pretended to get lost while driving her husband home from an Ontario restaurant. On a street in Rancho Cucamonga, authorities allege, Lama met the pair and stabbed and strangled James Quinn.
The widow tried to collect on her husband’s life insurance, prosecutors said.
