Woman Held in Alleged Hate Crime Shooting
Police arrested a 19-year-old woman Thursday in connection with what they called a hate crime shooting in a Los Angeles restaurant.
They were continuing to search for her companion, who they believe pulled the trigger.
Angela Sandoval Hernandez was arrested at her Rampart area home.
Police alleged that Hernandez made a derogatory remark about the perceived sexual orientation of the victim as he walked by her table at Chano’s restaurant on West Beverly Boulevard on Tuesday night.
That sparked an argument with the unidentified victim, 19, which ended in the shooting. The victim remained hospitalized in stable condition Thursday night, police said.
Officers were seeking Jaime Alberto Martinez, 21. He is 5 feet 7 and 175 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
