A More Perfect Union

Re “Cleric Blessed Same-Sex Union,” June 2: As a heterosexual Episcopalian, I am revolted by the criticism the American Anglican Council has directed at Los Angeles Bishop J. Jon Bruno for his blessing of the union of the Rev. Canon Malcolm Boyd and his partner of 20 years, Mark Thompson. If most heterosexual couples demonstrated the faithfulness over two decades that this couple have, and if most Christians exemplified their faith as effectively as Boyd has in his half-century of ordained ministry, the world would be a far better place.
What is “deplorable” is the American Anglican Council’s self-evident and relentless agenda of cruelty toward human beings who are homosexual.
