Violence in El Monte
Re “Girl, 6, Is Killed in Shooting While Out for an Ice Cream,” July 20: It is unfortunate that the “Friendly City of El Monte” cannot live up to its name. Young innocent children are being targets of crude acts of violence. Let this be a call for our mayor and council members to implement more gang-prevention and abuse-prevention programs for all city residents.
