4.3 Quake Hits Ventura County, Carpinteria Area

An earthquake jolted Ventura and Santa Barbara counties Saturday morning, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, officials said.
The magnitude 4.3 temblor struck at 5:55 a.m. and was centered near the Ventura County line, about five miles southeast of Carpinteria in Santa Barbara County, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Geological Survey.
Carpinteria is 80 northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
