The Eyes Had It, Italian Premier Says

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi acknowledged that he recently had cosmetic surgery -- but said it was “only under the eyes.”

The billionaire leader had dropped out of public view for nearly a month beginning at the end of December. Chatting at a reception for Italian designers in Rome, Berlusconi acknowledged having the cosmetic surgery on his eyes.

The statement came days after the left-leaning L’Espresso magazine reported that Berlusconi underwent extensive plastic surgery on his face and neck. Berlusconi said he lost 22 pounds on a rigid diet.
